Recovery for Works is a group of three applications for recovering documents from Works databases, spreadsheets, and Word documents. Each application is installed separately from the others, so it runs independently. Nevertheless, the operation of each one of the three applications to recover files is exactly the same.
After opening the desired application, you need to use the Recover option and browse your computer to select the file to be recovered. It is highly recommended to make a backup copy of the corrupted documents before attempting to recover them. You can identify the type of documents with their file extension. Works Word documents have the WPS extension; the Works database documents have WDB extension; Works spreadsheet documents have XLR extension.
After finishing the recovering process, you will be asked to assign a name for the recovered file. The extension file for the Works database and spreadsheet documents will be the same. Only the recovered Works Word documents will be saved with the Rich Text Format (RTF).
One advantage of this program is that you can use the three applications to recover files from the command line and use them in batch processes.
